I grew up on a small livestock & grain farm in west central Indiana. My participation in 4-H, FFA and livestock judging lead me to the purebred livestock business. From my first trip to the Indiana State Fair, I was ‘hooked’ on purebred livestock. I have been fortunate to follow my passion and make it my career.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Purdue University, where I was active in Block & Bridle Club, as well as on both the Livestock & Meats Judging Teams. I have 14 years professional breed association experience with the American Shorthorn Association and North American Limousin Foundation. Duties & responsibilities encompassed performance programs, event planning & scheduling, budgeting, member education, breed promotions & marketing assistance. Positions held included Director of Marketing, Director of Breed Activities, Junior Activities Director and Field Representative.

I have been fortunate to have been employed by 3 livestock publications:

► “Shorthorn Country” — Publisher, Director of Advertising Sales & Field Representative

► “Drover's Journal” — Livestock Sales Director; Oversight of 5 sales representatives with gross advertising sales over $1 million annually.

► “Western Ag Reporter” — Field Editor; Client base in Colorado, Nebraska & Wyoming representing over $28 million in cattle & horse sales annually.

I have 15 years experience directly involved with the marketing of beef cattle genetics to the seedstock & commercial cow/calf producer segments of our beef industry. I have a firsthand working knowledge of the roles of various segments within the beef industry, purebred, cow/calf, stocker, feedlot, packer & branded beef.

► Deiter Bros., Faulkton, SD — Director of Marketing, 2000 - 2006
	Deiter Bros. is the sixth largest seedstock company in the U.S., marketing over 600 bulls & 1,200 females annually. I was responsible for all marketing & advertising programs. We executed two major auction sales annually with sales over $3.5 million. Customer service included working with seedstock & commercial clients alike on genetic strategy and marketing options.
► Five Star Cattle Systems, LLC, Loveland, CO — General Manager, 2006 – 2008
	Five Star sold over 500 bulls annually to commercial cow/calf producers, coordinated customer feeder cattle into various branded beef programs and provided verification services for ‘Source & Age’ and ‘Natural’ programs.
